Communications and Marketing Specialist - Full Time Salary

The Communications and Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing and executing marketing and communication strategies to boost member engagement and promote club activities. This role focuses on social media content creation, event promotion, internal communication, and maintaining consistent branding across all platforms. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, and enthusiastic about building vibrant member experiences.

 
Key Responsibilities:

       Marketing & Communications:
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote member engagement and club activities.
  • Create and manage engaging content for social media, email campaigns, and the club website.
  • Design promotional materials using tools like Canva or Adobe Photoshop.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Management Team (SMT) to gather and consolidate content.
  • Maintain consistent branding and communication across all platforms.
  • Monitor and respond to member interactions on social media.
       Member Services Support:
  • Assist at the Member Services front desk for two shifts per week, ensuring a welcoming and professional atmosphere.
  • Provide general member services, including handling reservations and offering technical assistance when needed.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Strong social media management and content creation skills (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or similar).
  • Photography & Video Editing Skills: Experience with photography and video editing for digital platforms (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, iMovie, or similar)
  • Website Content Management: Experience managing and updating website content.
  • Email Marketing Platforms:  Proficiency in email marketing tools such as Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or club-specific platforms like Jonas
  • Analytics & Reporting: Ability to interpret marketing performance data and generate reports to inform content strategy (e.g., Google Analytics, social media insights)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Customer service experience is an asset, especially in hospitality or club settings.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Previous experience in marketing, communications, or event promotion is an asset.
  • Proficiency with office software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace) and basic technical troubleshooting.

Assistant Catering Coordinator (Non-Union) - Hourly


Position Description
The Assistant Catering Coordinator an ambassador of Bayview Golf & Country Club’s service standards, maintaining relationships with Members through regular in-person, phone and email contact. The Asst. Catering Coordinator is responsible for the organizing and directing of catering service activities in the private dining rooms, the ballroom and all areas in the club where special events are scheduled. This individual must always maintain a high level of professionalism and adhere to all Club policies and procedures. He or she must have strong communication skills while providing exceptional Member and Guest service. 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Communicate event requirements to operating departments via detailed banquet event order
  • Meet with Members to obtain logistical and menu details for upcoming events
  • Provide recommendations pertaining to set-up of audio/visual equipment that demonstrate an understanding of the Members meeting objectives and capabilities
  • Liaise with outside suppliers for necessary equipment rentals
  • Maintain files in an orderly manner, in accordance with specified guidelines.
  • Communicate Member needs to operating departments and resolve complaints
  • Provide a high level of customer service to Members and Guests
  • Participate in sales, Catering department, and other meetings as required
  • Comply with Club Policies and Procedures
  • Supervise and manage employees to ensure Members and Guests are served promptly in a courteous manner at all times
  • Train and coach all F&B Front of House employees and ensure high standards of service
  • Develop, maintain and update an ongoing training manual
  • Review Daily Guarantee Sheets and note any changes directly to the Banquet Event Orders
  • Conduct daily meetings with service Staff informing them of upcoming function details
  • Perform a physical review of Banquet space to ensure the proper set-up and working order of all audio-visual equipment no later than 30 minutes prior to the start time of an event
  • Meet, greet, and remain with the convener of an event to provide assistance
  • Assign service stations and side duties to service Staff
  • Provide continuous communication with the Kitchen regarding the status of an event
  • Assign tear down and next day set up duties to service Staff
  • Maintain adequate bar stock levels at all times
  • Perform closing inventory of Bar and sign bar sheet
  • Log and safeguard any valuables to be picked up at a later date
  • Perform all other tasks as assigned by the Clubhouse Manager
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Outlook, some understanding of Excel)
  • Experience in the Club industry
  • Experience with JONAS Software
 
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 1 - 3 years' supervisory experience in a hospitality and
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the hospitality sector (Banquets & Events)
  • Valid Smart Serve certification
Soft Skills Required
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail and Leadership
  • Knowledge of Food & Beverage service operations
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Exceptional customer relationship management skills
  • Solution oriented approach to dealing with customer service issues
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
